Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue An. Ellis Taylor, American producer and actress. She earned a B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actor, producer and director who has worked in both film and television. She started her career as an actor in theater but then proceeded to make appearances in numerous TV shows, as well as independent and mainstream films. The actress was famous for her role as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) and on BET's massive The Book of Negroes. The two series garnered critical acclaim, but she also received a number of awards. In 1995 she debuted as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. Apart from the Broadway production Come and Gone, she is also credited in Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Her film work is highlighted by her performances as a character in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her most well-known role is her character on ABC's crime drama High Incident.
